LOL look at some Vovchanchyn or Coleman fights. Those bastards do some serious ground and pound from inside the guard. Also Bas Rutten used to **** people up on the ground even when they were in HIS guard lol.
Count me in as another fullcontact kid. I don't think you should do it all the time, but if you don't go full contact at least once in awhile then you are deluding yourself. Everything changes when the **** goes for real.

who said anything about walking around bruised and blood 24-7.
when did it become legal to shoot someone if they are going to attack you using equal force?
do you carry a gun, if so, what kind? and how many people have you shot. how many times did you have a jury trial?

Sparring is only one type of feedback !
And it definitely isn't the time to learn anything !
Don't underestimate it - Feedback is important!
But one could get the feedback in a plenty of other forms, besides sparring. Te heavier the sparring, the more you are concerned with "survival" and the less studying and learning you do.
Therefore, some sparring can be a good idea, but one should be careful not to get an overdose.

"And no ones bruised or bloodied?"
for obvious reasons we do not allow closed fisted strikes to the face and head. we do however allow open handed slaps and back hands about the face and head as hard as we wish, and i mean hard. so no, no blood unless we get hit in the lip with a good slap or in the nose with the back of someones hand.
we are allowed to kick as hard as we want about the torso area.
the only thing we limit is kicking to the knees and groin, everywhere else is game except the spine area, where only slight contact is allowed.
take my word for it, when your sweating like hell, and you get slapped in the face at full force, it stings like the end of the world.
