Siege man slips through police net

POLICE were last night hunting a man who escaped from a house surrounded by armed officers. The man, who allegedly threatened police with a Samurai sword, managed to flee the terraced house in Rhyl despite the armed siege and a police road block. Officers were called to Balmoral Grove early yesterday after a woman claimed she was assaulted by her boyfriend. Investigating officer Inspector Iwan Jones said threats were made by the man when they arrived and armed back-up was called. But officers, some armed with firearms and stun-guns, stormed the house only to discover he had gone.

Insp Jones said: "The means of how he got out and the time he got out are unknown. We are still looking for the man and want to speak to him." The search started after the woman and children left the house. Although the man remains at large, the Samurai sword was recovered. A witness, who did not want to be named, said: "It is unbelievable. The police have been here all day trying to find this man. And when they went into the house he wasn't even there.

"There were loads of them, with guns and snarling dogs and so on, but he managed to escape and now they can't find him."

why bring all these weapons..hwo come they never use thermo goggles or things that let them detect things.

....That technology is only used in darkness or when a fugitive has gone to ground also, British police, on the whole don't go rushing in guns blazing. They wait, sometimes a long time. And, it's standard procedure for the police to be armed when a 'suspect' has been identified as carrying a weapon. We all know how deadly a samurai sword can be, what's to say he wasn't carrying a gun; it's a necessary precaution

How he managed to escape though is beyond me...I suspect, he wasn't there in the first place.

Maybe he used his ninja skills to disguise himself as one of the police officers.

But in all seriousness this is just one of many stories from Britan. The crime rate there has skyrocketed.
