Mike Tyson is fighting in MMA bout

I just heard from my instructor, Erik Paulson, that Mike Tyson will begin training for an MMA bout very soon. His trainer is most likely going to be Pat Miletich. Thoughts?

I want to see what happens if he get the mount on some fool and starts reigning down blows. Or better yet, imagine if he would get that lucky punch on someone trying to shoot in on him. That could get ugly real quick.

Goddamn people, I love this board and all, but everyone is so hyppocritical on shooting defenses. According to a lot of people here, you need to know how to strike and grapple, because if you don't, you'll lose. Unless you're a boxer. According to a lot of people here, if you throw a knee at someone shooting in on you, you'll miss. Unless you're a boxer. If you haven't trained in takedown defenses EXTENSIVELY, you will be taken down. Unless you're a boxer. I mean, I'm not trying to be condescending to boxers here, but really, all the same rules still apply.

Mike would do well, if his conditioning stays as good as its been. He obviously has good hands, but he has to get used to using the pride/UFC gloves. But just imagine him being allowed to fight "dirty"

And for that matter, a Thai-son round-house kick to someone's thigh.

And I know everyone here would die laughing if they saw Tyson use a guard.

do u know which league he's fighting in? I don't think anyone but pride would have enough money to really land him and by his standards, whatever they payed him would be well below what hes used to. Unless he became idoized in japan like sapp and they reined down endorsements on him.
