MMAWeekly's Ken Pishna, reporting from the IFC's press conference at the Pepsi Center in Denver said that the IFC's Paul Smith stated that Chuck Liddell will be fighting for Pride.

In announcing the IFC Light Heavyweight Tournament to be held at the Pepsi Center on September 6th, Smith said that, "Due to contractual obligations to the UFC and Pride, as of today, Chuck Liddell has vacated his IFC Light Heavyweight Title. He's in Japan right now..." Smith went on to mention that Liddell stated that he would be back in the IFC at some point to fight for his belt.

So we now know that Vanderlei Silva; Sakuraba; Quinton Jackson; Hikehiko Yoshida; and Chuck Liddell are in. MMAWeekly's Scott Petersen reports from Japan that Assureio Silva and Ricardo Arona will also be competiting as Pride announced Silva and Arona as being official at a news conference. The other spot looks to be filled by a Gracie and should be announced in the next 24-48 hours. So on paper, this tournament looks to be spectacular.
