    Hell yeah! Hell no!
But in the beginning capoeira was a dance. Plus if it wasnt for capoeira there would be no break dancing. It is said that capoeira help influence hip hop

Now I know who to blame for hip hop.

people try to 'africanize' hip-hop but that is pretty stupid....africa has about as much to do w/ hip-hop as pol pot.

In my system we steal from capoeira. Some of the techniques are very good for ground fighting/evading and attacking at the same time. Personally some of the things they do don't seem practical for the street. At least not for me. Take the good and use it. What you don't like leave it alone....

Osiris, what's your obsession with capoera and 52?

52, for all we know, is an urban legend.

Cap looks damn cool, but is not (as of right now) a viable martial art.

It's a cool pasttime, I'm sure, but their "fighting" is sillier than any Wushu I've ever seen.

I'd like to know why people on these boards think that 52 is a myth? There's not exactly a wealth of available info but there is some out there. I'm in Atlanta where 52 is known as Alto 52 for the Alto State Prison. It exists believe me.

I just checked your profile and realized that you're in ATL. You don't know any of the Alto 52 cats?
