    Hell yeah! Hell no!
Has anyone had any dealings with Capoeira? Has anyone seen capoeira based more on fighting and less on dancing?

NO. If someone could kick my ass using ONLY Capoeira I would be tremendously surprised. IMHO, this is just extreme dancing. Great for getting in shape though..

I already do a standup which incorporate some groundfighting and BJJ which incorporates some standup. I am looking for something a little different....

Eddy Gordo is precisely why i am a little interested in capoeira. The movements are a little deceptive. (reminds me of something i read by bruce lee about masking intentions)

I know arts like Capoeria can be effective. My sister didn't do any martial arts as a kid, but she took 10 years of gymnastics.

She was always flipping into me at full force in order to hurt me. I'm serious.

Capoeira looks fun and I'm sure there is some stuff in there you can use in a fight. I sure there are some schools that have a focus more of the fighting side and less of the self-expression, but I wouldn't have the first clue on where to look.

There doesn't seem to be a good database. There are a couple of schools near me, but only one of the websites actually works. And because of the nature of the beast, they are not usually in the best locations security wise.

A co-worker does some Capoeira, I'll ask him how it might be used in a fight...

About two weeks ago, I was talking to a Brazilian girl, and was shocked to discover that Capoeira is actually very, very popular in street fights. She said her dad once saw two people fighting in the traditional Capoeira stance with KNIVES BETWEEN THEIR TOES. Never **** with a Brazilian.

    3) Kacey is coming with me now. I have stolen her from the other Christian Weston Chandler.

I knew some great Capoeiristas in Chicago. I was friends with one of them and went to a lot of their rodas. It is a great fighting "game" that can help you develop timing, distancing, agility, and strength. It had some great techniques and some silly ones, like most MAs I've seen. How you use this stuff is up to you.

Yes Fighty but let's face it, Capoeira (as a fighting style) has got to be on the bottom rung. If a fight between a capo and a tkd person started I would bet on the TKD!
