Holy thread resurrection Bat Man!!!
But it certainly IS important to note that a clean gi means a happy grappling partner or a happy uke. There have been a couple of times in my karate class where I have gone WHEW!
I was my gi after each class (unless it was a very low impact class where I don't sweat much), and usually wash my belt once a week. -

I've seen blood, a lot of it (my own), though I've never worn a gi...
But if you need expert advice in this too (what a ,,,), I can tell you that some 'nature friendy' washing powders contain stuff which makes your clothes smell like ****.
I'm not kidding, but sorry I can't remember the full name of the substance that does it... esp in English... (Phosphates..?) maybe not... -
