That's from "Mind, Body, and kickass moves", a Martial LARPs documentary show.
And I'm pretty sure it's been posted in some form before, then again I could be wrong.

So, more Ninja Larping, and a little more compliant partner demonstration. Great, but nothing really new.

I said it before and I'll say it again.

The Bujinkan is a system which needs to do live sparring in its training.

Training with compliant partners who co operate with you is okay in the beginning. WHen your learning something new or doing drillwork. But you need to test it in sparring. When you see the head of the Bujinkan teaching this way, no wonder the system has poorly trained fighters.

You know what's funny, if you critisise lunge punches and compliant takedowns you get told that such training is for beginners and everntually it leads up to the t3h r34l training. Then you look at Hatsumi's demos and you see the excact same things, yet people say that Hatsumi teaches at a 10th dan level. S

Were the guys attacking Hatsumi actually swinging the swords a few inches to the side of him?

Wow, I am SO suprised that someone had trouble avoiding a sword WHEN DOING FREAKING ROLLS AS A MEANS OF MOVEMENT! And the people were being totally compliant with Hatsumi, then being dicks to the host.
