I have a couple of ggod ones. When I started training I was recovering from major knee surgery. I was almost 100%. I was being taught a kick I had already been doing and doing well. Jump Spinning outside crescent ( Probably would have never used it anyway). When the group was being instructed on how do perform the kick I was doing the full kick. When I tried to break it down to how it was being shown to the other students I couldn't do it. I kept falling unless I threw the kick. SO Iwas told not to throw the kick just bring the leg around in chamber. For some reason everytime I tried I wouldn't bring the chamber around and would fall. SO finally when I brought it around I plant it hard so I wouldn't fall and POP torn acl out for 6 mos.
Just a month or so ago I was testing my students and was throwinig one of them to see his breakfall performed. As I threw him, POP / Crunch in my ribs. ( Hurt like hell ) I thought I broke a rib, I have broken ribs before and it felt the same. So instead of letting someone else throw him I decided it was a fluke I should throw him again to prove it to myself. You know what happened, POP/ Crunch but worse. Torn rib cartlidge I haven't thorn anyone in 2 mos waiting for it to heel....

Ahhh... the walking wounded. I know how each and everyone of you injured practitioners feel. Take some time off, rest, and heal. That is the best advice you can get.
JKDChick, hope your not out to long. Take care of those feet and ankles, they have to support you for you entire life. Listent to your doctor, and don't rush yourself back.
Sincerely,

Update: It's a cyst or something on my tendon, right under the ankle bone. Swelling, pain, limited movement -- though it wasn't NECESSARILY caused by my training, it just might have flared up conincidentally (I'm holding onto that thought very tightly).
Anyway, the usual: ice, elevate, stay off yadda yadda yadda. I'll be back in a week or so, at the most.
