Some minor advice, relax your leg a little more. It seems like your tensing it up. Your hips are doing the work, just let your leg follow. In back work try to get UP on the balls of your feet to really dig in that pivot on your plant leg. Your leg is also suppose to be coming into the pad at an angle not straight into it. Hard for me to tell in the vid but its good general advice. Also, its not horribly relevant to your kicking technique but keep your hands higher, period. Even in bag work its a must to keep your hands high enough or you'll end up throwing kicks with your hands down. Also in regards to the hands, I try to keep one hand up when I kick. The same side arm as the side I'm kicking with I still move the same as your doing. However, I try to keep the back hand up by my head.
Keep up the good work. -

I'd love to train at Boston Sanda Kungfu, but I commute 1 hour to work to and from, so that seriously takes away my free time.

I hit with the very base of my shin. I err on the side of my instep and sometimes even the outside ankle, partly because of the hip turning obsession. Yeah, this is something I need to work on.

This is just my opinion, and I could be totally off on this, but I recommend trying to keep your leg a bit straighter when kicking and imagine your leg is fused to your hip.

well I don't mean to make your leg "stiff" or "tense" exactly, just try to keep it more straight and have a stiffer connection at the hip.
