fat = no 6 pack fucknuts

Wastrel's right if you want more than just strong abs you need to lose fat.

Case in point I have strong abs but no sixpack to go with them due to some winter insulation that I had installed awhile back.

For losing weight, simply put, it's more important for you to maintain a certain heart rate for as long as you can, rather than think about the distance. 45 minutes, three times a week, at your target heart rate is what you should be shooting for.

    Oh, and Tbone's right...because he's echoing what I said!

"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - for ever."
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

Wastrel situps can be useful if used after crunches as they'll hit your hipflexors. They're good for that but not necessarily the most efficient method.

And for the people that already have low body fat...

I use to do the stuff Wastrel reccomends, then I realize that the only reason I didn't have abs was because I was a skinny **** and my abs were seriously under developed. So...I tried everything...But the only thing that got my abs really developed were the inverted situps as different angles. I'd start at 45* and work my way up to 90*. 90* is usually pushing it cause all the blood goes to your head if you stop for a second...I did crunches like this too of course.

The exercises I recommend are very good for abdominal strength. What you describe is more like a loaded crunch.

Keep in mind not everyone has the right genetic makeup to be "cut". It may be impossible to get the look you want no matter how much you work out. Blame mom and dad.

haha, 45 min conditioning is a bit too long in my opinion, 30 mins is good enough. pretty much, run at a pace where u r comfortable at first, some ppl say that u should be able to talk still while running and if u beyond that speed u r going beyond what u r capable of. Hearrate for u should be around 165, 170 per minute is what u r shooting for, but simply run at a comfortable but still a little bit stressful speed, and if u r just starting out, mix it up with run a bit, fast walk, run a bit kind of exercise, just keep it up for over 20 mins though
