Cool, but I thought I said that already. No need for people to start bashing Capoeira's fighting usefullness here, as it's been done over and over. It's a game, that's all. I was just saying that the skills you learn from it could be carried over to other MAs, and was wondering if anyone has crosstrained in capoeira and saw any benefit.

Re-read your post, scrub.
You didn't exactly bash it and neither did I. But you weren't crystal clear in acknowledging it's effectiveness as you saw it as 'extremely beneficial'. I was making it crystal clear. In fact I even identified some of the benefits.
I am just very blunt when I make sure that practical application is not listed as one of the benefits. -

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris -

I checked it out once. $5 for the class. It was fun. It was a very hard work out. There were hot chicks/dudes. One visiting meistre from brazil looked like he could make the kicks and trips work ON DA STR33T. He moved a lot differently than everyone else. No one else in the class - even the local instructor - seemed to care about the combat aspect.
Also they all wore cotton pants that looked pretty comfy. You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.
