I think stuff like tai-chi would work great in conjunction with another art.

I agree with the first half of what Jamoke said, but I'm more cautious of the second half.

I have zero experience with this, my opinion is from what I've seen and heard.

jamoke is correct on all counts.

it's a rare thing. because it can easily take ten or more years of training before true functional skill is achieved. most dont have the discipline to achieve this. sad.

    I think Jamoke's basically right.

"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - for ever."
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

Well guys I'm not for the internal stuff. If you like it fine. I can't go for it becuase of all the bullshit behind it. You take a good idea and then you try to make it more than it actually is. If its that powerful everybody would be doing it and there wouldn't be much mysticism behind it.

For something that has been practiced for over a thousand years you'd think there would be more broad faced facts. Do I believe in internal energy? Only if you want to define it as electricity. Besides that I feel its mostly bullshit.

Go away I'm talking to myself

"Do I believe in internal energy"

your concept and therefore your definition is incorrect. it is a matter of mechanics.

"If its that powerful everybody would be doing it and there wouldn't be much mysticism behind it."

uh, that's because it is hard to learn, and people as a whole have little motivation or discipline. i make no excuses for the 'mysticism', there is nothing mystical about it.

if it was EASY then EVERYBODY would do it.

    its not,and therefore they dont.

everybody is for the quick fix. fucking happy meal mentalities.

"yea, can i get a number three kuntao value meal please? i dont have alot of time."

why do you think they call them McDojos?

    senseless.

    peace.

I've gone for "good principles but incomplete application". Certainly sums up the CIMA for me. And all this stuff about people not getting it because they are not "dedicated" enough is bull - the arts should be taught more efficiently.
