I was talking to Osiris earlier and he gave me the idea that Kwan Tana Mo Bei would be a great name for a Dojang.

I've done some TKD. The sensei never mentions point sparring. Point Sparring is only talked about when a tournament comes up and if any students want to go. Besides that, every time we spar it's been full contact. Only rule is no hitting the groin. Im not sure about elbows though, but I haven't seen it used on me.

We practice all the flashy kicks but mostly the more practical ones.

But what I don't like are the forms. We spend like 30% of the time doing forms.

Both may use sanchin: But Goju-ryu people do it differently. Same principles are there, but they do it different.

To me it's like comparing Judo and BJJ, different arts but the same too.

    TKD:
To be fair, Bas Rutten talks about how he found his TKD training useful. He said something about not being a complete art but he stated that it helped his overall fighting game.

Check his bio section and Bio faqs. That is if they are still up in his new website format. Probably not.

I dont believe that kicking people off horses stuff, i mean why not use a pike or a kwan dao?

I like KickCatchers comic about it. Makes a whole lot of sense.

Well to be fair, ive seen uechi-ryu people do sanchin like they are taking a ****.

And some Goju-ryu people do it relaxed too, just have to look for it.
