Some of Vlad's stuff seems to have a bit of a Buza influence. Sambo in general and Spiridinov in particular definitely are foundational to modern RMAs. As far as Ryabko, I have no idea where he got his stuff from. If I were to guess I would have to say that Ryabko is an amalgamation of his own mixing his Kung-fu background with bits of possibly Buza, Aikido and Spiridinov. Skobar is definitely absent from him mix, the striking techniques as well as the defenses are not at all like he teaches.
Kadochnikov on the other hand is a different story. Form the history of his that I have read, his father and grandfather trained him in Buza and Skobar, he then learned Spiridinov in the military. In Krasnodar he took those arts, along with influences from others, the science of engineering and biomechanics to develop a scientific MA.

Okay, so there are other influences, as Ryakbo is completely different. The delivery of the strikes, and pushing actions are completely different, they are not skobar, or buza, as far as I can see. There is a different methodology, that is what I find interesting. So what is the source, is it Rykabo himself, his Father/Papa, or his uncle? Or is it something else?Whatever the criticisms of the style, how Mikhail delivers the strikes, is completely different to anything, whether it be Russian, Western, or Eastern. I think if you concentrate on that, then you might get somewhere. It is certainly not boxing, however I can see some of its influences though. Anybody, who has been on the end of, or witnessed his strikes, will confirm this. So good question, how does he achieve, what he can do? He hits certain parts of the body, and can cause all strange kind of effects, how does he do it.
Anyone with a good knowledge of Russian Martial Arts, will be able to explain this one. Can the Kad, Ross system, sonnon, premak system, achieve this, or earlier ethnic slavic arts, achieve this. Interesting question?
