I wear a cup anytime we are asked to do power drills, just in case the person I'm paired with wants to drill uchi mata. I can always feel that leg hitting the inside of my legs... too close to my wee wee for comfort. But that's about, after that I take the cup off. I find it too cumbersome, and the cup edges cause rashes.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

I had assumed that was just Cup how-to. Why would anyone wear a cup right against their skin?

I wear cotton boxers, and the cup over it, and still, sometimes I get rashes. It's a piece of plastic pressuring the skin through the boxers... or maybe it's because I'm using a cheap $10 cup, I dunno.

Very few people wear cups in the grappling only classes. Not so, of course during the striking/mma sparring.

I haven't worn a cup yet either in BJJ class -- no major problems yet. I've had my kids anyway. :icon_lol:

The cup doesn't bother me much when I wear it with compression shorts. It irritates me when my training partners don't wear a cup. I hate having my training time wasted when somebody I'm rolling with has to stop because he gets his nuts crushed. It's a contact sport. Wear a fucking cup.

You've got to be kidding me, my cup adds a whole different dimension to my submission game. Its all about leverage and the cup gives you some added leverage, if you got it use it.

I always wear a cup. It has gotten to a point where I can't roll effectiveley without it on because I am afraid of getting my sack clipped.

I don't wear one everywhere I go, so if I have to armbar someone without it I don't intend to be cranking away with their elbow on my balls. I use the inside of my thigh as the fulcrum.
