i was expecting to see kids with headgear, shinguards, and gloves the size of their noggins... but that looks to be real fucking muay thai.

did he just climb up the other kid's back to punch him in the back of the head?

Not to deny those kids have skill, but that looked a little choreographed. They were taking some pretty dramatic falls and getting right back up again.

yes, that was in fact choreographed. Whenever you see people in fighting stances like in Ong Bak, they're going to be doing a choreographed match. Plus, even little kids don't fall flat on their back every time they take a hit.
