    Aikido with sparring

Would Aikido training that involved actually sparring turn out to look like Judo? What do you guys think?

Ignore that guy; his idea of sparring is to take every unrealistic knife attack drill and make it bidirectional.

In response to your question, the problem with Aikido is that all the techniques I have seen are passive or defensive; they require the other person to take the initiative. It's hard to spar when nobody can make the first move.

Damn it Shuma, let me **** with the n00b for a bit longer. At least till they get 10 posts. Just cause he does BJJ doesn't mean you have to take him seriously.

Because Shuma ruined my fun. If Aikido used sparring it probably look more like its Jujutsu roots.
