    Hell yeah! Hell no!

What is the worst bullshido you have ever fallen for?

All of us on this board at one time or another have fallen for BS and I am a curious cat and I thought this might be an intresting discussion. For me it is a toss up between Gary Dill, George Dillman, and the Ninjer stuff ( I was 12). Each had their own unique oddities. Dill is really biligerent about the original JKD stuff and he has about three times as many belt ranks as most skewls and the majority of his training is with focus mitts ( no sparring, except one steps, complicated trapping etc.) then there was Dillman. He got pissed at me during a seminar becuase I did not instantly collapse from his death blow (though I am certain he will take credit if I die suddnely now that it has been 15 years larter.) So if anyone wants to chime in I loved to share. :new_smili

The Chuck Norris School of Karate.

    They talked a good talk

"It's a mixture of Karate, western boxing and street fighting blah blah blah."

Really it was just craptacular. I wasn't there for long.

I was doing Horse Stance and Reverse Punch when I first started. Now I just laugh at it.

TKD - I wasn't the sparring type, and my school was OK with that: I should have been, they shouldn't have been.

Ditto here. I felt like a fucking mighty bad ass ninja turtle throwing punches in the air, yelling kiai and counting in japanese when I was doing shotokan. 3 month laters, something snapped on my head and I realized I was a fucking retard.

Oh, and I almost felled for Aikido, in part because of watching Steven Seagal movies, and because I felt a bit hippie at the time. I don't know what got into me back then :eusa_sick

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

    Yeah,
A former judo instructor of mine (great guy by the way) was very into Aikido. It was the Tomiki style and supposedly more combat oriented. But I never got into to it, it just seemed ridiculous after an hour and a half of groundfighting and throws to suddenly switch gears and use complicated wristlocks. :confused4
