That is so true. This dude looks like a guy stumbling around in a bar fight, while Mifune looks like he is floating on a cushion of air.

Actually, O-Sensei Stefano Surace sent a letter to a famous sports newspaper to explain his views on Kano and Judo. The letter is written in French but Babelfish does a decent job at translating it.

Here is the original thread (in French) as well as the Babelfish-translated version.

Edit: Sadly the translation ends before the end of the letter... :( But that should be enough for you guys to get the point.

Even the certificate is filled out incorrectly. It says:

This is to certify that on: __________ (I assume date)
    ____________________________ (name)
has satisfactorily completed the prescribed examination for
    ____________________________ (what you got)

Someone has very enthusiastically filled it out so that it reads: This is to certify that on <NAME WITH AWESOME TITLES> has satisfactorily completed the prescribed examination for Doctorate in Budo.

His judo history is just wrong.

I just have to ask -- in every single one of these sketchy martial arts styles, there's always a claim that they incorporate Judo. Like, you know, "My martial art is a blend of blah, blah, judo, and blah." WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO MY BELOVED JUDO? Why can't you incorporate something ELSE?

lol good eye on the Certificate, that is tragic! Why post a certificate that is filled out incorrectly?

I'm saving and rehosting that Certificate since I have a feeling it might go away.
