Yes. Guys wearing costumes (even if they ARE armed).
No WAY! They got R34L guns!
Meh. Little of column A, little of column B...

There's a difference between dressing up in a team uniform, like the handsome and gallant uniforms of Team Hitler Jugend, and dressing up in pyjamas.
This game is really hard and GIJoe6186 is a ******.

That is one of the things that I can't understand about LARPers. How can they spend so much freakin money on armor and all the other crap that they could/should have invested in something else (um, retirement perhaps?).
Since you are only buying a hat that you have to wear when you do your CAS stuff, I would consider it barely LARPing. Yes, you get dressed up, but it cost's little to do that leaving you with money that is better spent somewhere else (or at least on ammo).
Besides, who's going to call a man with a loaded gun a LARPer to his face? That's what forums are for. :copdance:

No, it's LARPing. Sheer, brazen, public and unapologetic LARPing. If you're going to be a costumed role-player, that's the way to do it.
No pretensions. They just geek out, have fun, and don't care who knows. I think I'll take my kids to the IL championships this month if I can get away. I don't shoot CAS, but I think they might enjoy seeing it.

I don't think you have any idea what a nunchuck can do. It's the most versitile weapon after the 3 sectional staff.
That last sentence made me spit coke.
Thats like being the prettiest girl after the chick who came second in the axe fight.
Jesus loves you. I think you're an asshole.

If they aren't killing each other with bullets how is it "not" LARPing?
Posted On:6/27/2006 6:31pm
It is. It's LARPing by definition.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, because even though most CASS shooters have never heard the word "LARP," if you told them what it means, they'd cheerfully agree that it's what they do. It's FUN.
You know, FUN? A game played for enjoyment. That's what it is SUPPOSED to be.
Why is this controversial?

I hate fun!

I guess that would be hard to interpret. My bad.
It wouldn't be LARPing if they were using real bullets.
No, there is nothing wrong with that because unlike mcdojo their skills can be trasnferred to teh str33t.

Yes it would because they'd still be acting out scenarios while living out an old west persona and shooting at targets.
I think it'd be fun personally, oldwest IDPA sounds like a blast.
