The term "to vike" does not exist, not in English, ancient Norse, Babylonian or whatever. The name "viking" comes from the Scandinavian word "vik" which means something like "fjord", meaning that vikings are "people of the fjord."
    "Vike" in Scandinavian means "avoiding."

The absolutely retarded part of this law is that not only is competition matches (yes, it's termed competition matches) included, but exhibition and practise matches are in there in the law.
I don't know, but this could be taken to mean that we need to seek a permit every bloody time we want to spar.

At the same time, Åsa Sandell, swedish pro-boxer is a darling of the news, and Martin Lidberg even got MMA some short words on national television.

Stupid government, I'm moving to Finland.

It saddened me when I read about this decision. I gave my view in this thread, if anyone cares to read: http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=27199

The point here, is that the swedish government has declared that people who enjoy fighting are not fit to make their own decisions, which is a disgusting display of paternalistic behaviour on the part of our governments. I hope we get rid of these idiots in September.
I pointed at him [the panhandler], bringing my rear hand up in a subtle approximation of the double Wu Sau guard that is the default hand position in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

    "Step away," I hissed.
