    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Report on first BJJ class.

    Jesus. H. Christ.

I have never felt so abused, stupid, and spastic.

    School site: http://www.nolabjj.com/

two and a half hour class, final hour all rolling.

First thing first... all that compliant ground **** i learned in Krav amounts to **** all. It was useless. I was tapped more than a world war two morse code operator. Seeing those guys roll without knowing anything it looks like there is nothing going on. I was quickly disabused of that notion. I don't know ****... i don't enven know enough to know what i don't know.

I was very impressed with the school. Nice facilities, very helpful guys. I'll definitly be back for the BJJ as well as the judo they offer.

Sounds a lot like my first BJJ class coming from hapkido. I feel for you, my brother in pain.

I know that feeling. Stick with it and you'll notice improvements fairly quickly. Good luck!!

Once you build up a small repertoire of techniques, you'll get a better feel for how grappling works. My first few lessons I just stood there thinking "what do I do?"

After a while you'll start to feel your own balance and then the other guy's balance, so you can kind of tell what you need to do from there.

The biggest tip I give newbies is to never sit still. A lot of guys just starting dont know what to do and just lay there in guard, flat on their backs thinking. You need to always keep the other guy working and the best way to do that is to keep moving.

well at least you didn't walk out of your first class with a popped elbow capsule like I did!

Congrats.... Going in there if the first big step. Your next objective is to make it through these next few months. Don't give up!

My first lesson was similiar and while we were rolling towards the end of class i kept thinking to myself after tapping mutliple times and generally being dominated, what has wing tsun seriously taught me why doesn't the deadly anti-grapple work.

It was a reality check, and now i regret the last couple of years that i have wasted in wing tsun.
