That can be hard too, especially if the class is one of their sole sources of income.

Sucks about the no pad work, no sparring and NO ELBOWS!! those are some of my favorite strikes.
Had one guy come into class that had been a high school wrestler for years, looked good and scrappy, and I was looking forward to sparring and working with him, but alas 2 classes and didn't come back.
Good luck on finding something that works for you. Also it sounds like your teacher was a cool guy, its nice to find someone who you can be honest to and they don't change their opinions of you. -

Style: Chito-Ryu--
Well some people dislike Wing Chun although is it a different style of Kung Fu such as shotokan to chito-ryu. There similarities between the two. Also at HMA I heard they teach can-ryu, which teaches many good attacks and elbows that I also enjoy since they are very effected compared to point-fighting. Whatever works even better on the street
