That's a parody of Hulk Hogan, right?

That was definitely from that Hulk Hogan "I was a fat kid in elementary school" documentary on Nickeloden. How far they have fallen.

I can't stay mad at these guys. It's not easy to always have good challengers for the star attractions, but at least they aren't making an asses out themselves like Tony Valiente and Akebono.

I'm not laughing at them (beyond the supercan comment which I still find amusing) I'm commenting that they don't automatically deserve respect.
0&5, 0&10 keep going and start showing some improvement, sure.
4-30 it is time to think maybe fighting isn't your thing. Doing otherwise is ignoring reality and demonstrates you don't really know too much about yourself.

I know a guy with a losing record who for awhile was taking any fight offered to him. He got armbarred twice by the same guy with about 8 months seperation. Does he too deserve respect?
No and here's why: He doesn't train. He'll start coming in maybe a month before a fight but that's it. Great, he's willing to get in the cage. He's apparently not willing to work for it though.
I suspect it is similar for some of the people linked to on this thread.

Also, I find it hilarious that half assed blue belts who started up minor 0-WTF records as white belts are making comments. Did you hang up the belt when the losing streak started getting into gear? Oh, no. You got promoted.
I turned down promotions until I started winning because I was trying to be honest with myself about my skill level. And yes if I hadn't shown improvement and continued my losing streak I might have quit competing. Not because I'm a quitter but because I'm honest with myself and some people, regardless of how good they are on the mats in the school, aren't competitors.

I have more respect for people that are honest with themselves than ones who walk through life apparently oblivious acting as punching bags.

I know you don't understand being honest with yourself but there was no hypocrisy.

    He had some balls.

I'm finally starting to get this idea through my thick skull after accumulating a 1-3 record... well at least it's not 4-32 I guess.
    Exactly.

    Absolutely.
Further, I think at 4 & 30something it is fair to question the choices someone is making and realize that their choices don't neccessarily deserve respect.

I can't think of the right analogy but I'm picturing someone running headfirst into a wall umpteen times hoping the wall will break. Or some more harmful version of tilting at windmills.
