Simultaneous parry and punch. Taught first lesson in WC. Basic vocabulary and useful. Parry blind side and punch through.

No you don't have to learn it like that. What Sparrow said.

edit: by blindside I mean knuckle side. you don't have to actually move to their blindside..nevermind...it's just a parry.

Well, Pak sau is a Palm strike that runs into an arm as it trys to smash someones face. You show it to beginners with drills like this much the way you show any other martial art with simple drills, to beginners.

Also, in real use one or both partys would be moving toward eachother. This type of exercise if to focus on the arms. The extra distance is for safety.

I liked how the new guys holding his hurt forearms and that they are not wearing uniforms.

At about 0:38 he misses with the Pak but his punch catches the attack anyway. This is a WC concept in action..

but, as was mentioned, the Punches are "clubing", as in coming down like a hammerfist, and not straight thrusts. Alex is also Paking off at an angle, not toward the centerpoint. These are very common Chunner errors. In EBMAS we do this drill punch against punch, so the student and the teacher do not forget that these are ATTACKS that wedge, and not blocks. Wedges move things off to the side while moving forward, you do not need to move the pak to the side.

    Just **** off.

    Seriously.

Here's a story for you. A guy is humping a pig. Another guy is humping a sheep. The pigfucker turns to the sheepfucker and says "Woah, dude, you are humping a sheep - you are SICK."
