    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    hatchet advice...

    yes really..

having previously experimented with the sayoc hatchet templates in the past and recently found that some relatives own a fair chuck of forrestry that i intend on attacking when fit, i am planning on investing in a half decent hatchet ( currently i have a fairly bog standard wooden handled one that needs some love), as they are just a bit more useful than knives in the wild,

as such, and it is something i honestly know jack bout, does anyone have any good suggestions for general use ones? ( not too bothered if it doesn't fly well)

I have one, cost less than Ten bucks at a local hardware store.

Chops wood nice. Flies okay too. Hammer-end is useful for smashing things also.

Yeah, it's a 'hawk... I know he specified a hatchet but, with this group, I thought for sure someone would get a kick out of it.

If you're going for a tool, you want the non-blade side to be flat. It then serves double purpose as a hammer. Fiber-glass/composite handles seriously outperform wood. The extra cost is worth it.

Now, if only someone would post pics on the internets showing us how to make a concealable shoulder holster for the thing so we could hide it under a jacket.
