sure, jumping guard would be risky on the "street". wouldn't be my "go to move" but if that is your last resort to some guy barrelling down on you..... I've been bulldozed out of nowhere in a fight

they aren't striking enough, and they're striking from the arm. Even in a grapple you can still bring a little shoulder and hip with a sort of swimming motion.

Better than most of that sort of stuff but still: AUGH, CHAINSLAPPING FROM BOTTOM OF GUARD! KILL ME!

    Besides that:

They all need to work on their sweeps as well, but it's a good start actually knowing basic sweeping. Props.

Headbutting somebody from the mount isn't really something I advocate personally, although I know there are people who do.

Jumping to guard instantly is misinterpretation of BJJ and should be done in competitions, not fighting related training as this seems to be.

It was alright, on a whole.

At least they've acknowledged the need to address grappling, so I give them props for that, but if somebody pulled guard (or tried to anyway) on me like that on the deadly street I'd smash their balls to pulp.

That was a funny video. If you are going to drill something on the ground, isolate and drill. If you are going to roll, roll. But please dont do compliant drills that go beyond just armbar, reset, armbar. We dont need grappling kata. Learn your techniques, then spar.

And guard jumping is for pussys. Real men learn how to throw people.

I don't see that sweep working against any awake person with a basic grasp of balance.

    I wouldn't say it's for pussies...for sport BJJ, it's great...

I just prefer to be the one on top, regardless of whether it's sidemount or in somebody's guard...the way I see it, you fight how you train, so if I get used to pulling guard, I'd more likely than not instinctively do that in a fight instead of trying to be the one taking the other down...

Wow choosing a guard flop over a throw is utterly retarded. Especially in this situation which appears to be an unskilled charging attacker. I can't stop thinking of Judo throws that would have been better, several that would leave the guy standing.
