No. Hughes killed the sacred GJJ cow (that had killed the TMA cow). Rorion's rhetoric was a pathetic attempt to ressurect that cow.

Phrost, WTF? Did we watch the same fight? Yes, there was a little BJJ influence in Hughes excution, but there was hell of a lot of folkstyle wrestling as well. Maybe I'm missing something but the real arguement here is the Rorion coming out with his horsesh*t " Royce loses, but Gracies win". Still sounds like that episode of futurama where Lela and the little green kung fool master square off.

There isn't a rational person in this thread or elsewhere that is confused about the Gracies' role in directly facilitating the beatdown of one of their own. And anyone who disagrees with it can go **** themselves because they're retarded.

Required qualifying statement: I don't even do BJJ.
Read this again and then read what you typed. If you don't get what he was saying (even if it was a mistake),

    ^^this then applies to you.

Watched the entire 4 minute disaster just moments ago. My break down is this:
Matt uses a duck under (wrestling)
Uses side control on the ground, it sort of a cross between wrestling side control and yoko.
transitions from the side control with a 1/4 nelson [wrestling], L arm wrapped around Royces head; then to the armbar, BJJ or Judo your pick, he finishes with the mount and some good old farmboy haymakers.
My ASSesment: Matt used MMA, a mix of wrestling, boxing, BJJ or judo finishing holds, to dominate a one demensional fighter. :new_321:

Right that is what has been said.

Phrost's comment was to create a new sacred cow (ala GJJ) he would've had to use one specific recognizable style(folk wrestling) exclusively.

What Matt showed was a range of arts, trained with skill, can defeat a good one range fighter.

This smacks all the BS stated by many McDojo and false Masters around the world.

    Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

    The dreaded E-challenge.
