Hahaha - this is pretty funny.

Before the fight I was trying to guess the Gracie's plan B, in the event of a Royce loss.

Of course, it's BJJ FTW!

Oh, and Matt Hughes had nothing to do with it.

Maybe at the next UFC we can see Liddel vs. Kickboxing, in which case I choose Striking FTW!

Aw come on you guys are just being mean. The Gracie's have a point. If a Gracie learned Muay Thai and knocked somebody out with a round kick, it'd be fair for a Thai boxing instructor to talk about how useful Muay Thai was in MMA wouldn't it ?

Face facts the Gracies deserve respect. BJJ deserves respect. BUT, Matt Hughes did not use that much BJJ in defeating Royce, in fact it looked a lot like Dan Gable wrestling to me, but hey what do I know? :lol:

Looked like MMA with a wrestling/BJJ base to me.

Regardless of whether or not you give a **** about the gracies, the fight did validate bjj positional doctrine and fighting philosophy. Whether the fight was more wrestling inspired based on Hughes's background or more bjj inspired because of Militech's bjj black belt is immaterial.

Why is it evey time someone challenges Gracie JJ on this board a certain segment of this board acts like a bunch of bitches and starts pissing and moaning! As for the Dan GAble statement. I believe there are pictures on this board of the Hughes/Gracie fight and you can see Hughes clearly use a hook under to drop MR. UNDEFEATABLE. I never said diddly piss about Hughes using Gable techs to get ole Roycie in the mount. You ppl need to look into lithium or depakote or just smoke a damn joint!

If two people use the same martial art against one another, and one of them loses to a technique from that very martial art, how does that prove that that one martial art is the superior martial art?

Matt Hughes wins. He uses BJJ but not pure BJJ. Its much more evolved then that because its been adapted very well to MMA thanx to Militech and his group mixing in wrestling, kicknboxing and everything else. He made Gracie his bitch and now Rorion, although coreect for saying that Matt Hughes owes respect to BJJ, is being tacky. Please Rorion dont try and take **** away from Hughes. Just cause he isnt a Gracie doesnt mean you have to get ur panties ina bunch!
