    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Finally won some matches in a comp... Got Bronze...

    Yahoo...

Competed in the South Japan BJJ cup, adult, white belt, 68~73 kg weight class.

Won two fights, lost the next.

First won on points, second was a great fun match, he started scoring a lot of points on me and literally in the dieing seconds I slapped on an armbar, from rear mount, for the win.

Then I had to wait about 2 hours for the next fight, and a guy who was just plain better than me armbarred me in about a minute.

I did enough for the bronze medal which made me extremely happy.

I would post video but my girlfriend's camera-handling was a little, uh, excited, meaning you mostly get to see the mat, somebody's foot, and hear a whole lot of screaming.

Feels good to win a couple... I've competed twice before and got knocked out first round.

I realise this thread is a little egocentric but what the hell, I see other people doing it, and I haven't got that many buddies out here to high five with so...

Congratulations. I know how you feel, my only competition experience is losing the first round, twice. So I imagine it feels pretty good to actually win...

I was gonna make some joke about "oh, so the other two guys beat you?" cuz how many people in Japan weigh >150 lbs and do BJJ? but congrats, always a rush to win.

How many people did compete in that division?

It was the most full division in the whole thing, about 16 guys I think...

    You'd be surprised...

Congratulations on the molded piece of semi-precious metal used to signify dominance in competition.

    Awesome, man.

My only experience is losing in the first round once. Some day, though...

Enjoy this feeling and let it fuel you to more wins.
