    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Rickson vs Sakuraba (possibly maybe perhaps)

    http://www.subfighter.com/article-2353-thread-0-0.html

Well? Is this actually going to happen this time? Can anyone who speaks Portugese substantiate the 'number of Brazilian sources and media outlets' mentioned in the article?

Will Rickson prove that he is all hype? Will Sak collapse into dust at the first punch from accumulation of hideous injuries?

    Discuss.

This fight is not happening, just isnīt.

But if it were to ever take place I would bet on Sakuraba, Rickson is too one dimensional for modern day MMA.

5 Years ago this would have been cool. Now? Old man vs broken hero. No thanks.

Ever since Sak beat his first couple Gracies, this fight wasn't going to mean that much. He'd already proven that BJJ wasn't the ultimate system that could get you through any fight. He'd proven that the Gracies themselves were beatable. Most of all, he'd proven that he was a technical wizard and a really great fighter. Nothing the almighty Rickson did could ever take that away, even if he saved some face for the family and actually won.

If anything, I think it's more compelling today; Rickson was "old" even 5 years ago, and you know that's all people would talk about. Now, Sakuraba's many injuries level the playing field!:qcheerlea

This fight would, at this point, be like pitting Foreman and Ali against each other in a Throwdown in the Nursing Home. Totally unnceccesary.

old man vs. broken hero. Rickson lost his shot at greatness and will never get it back. He is relegated to be a never proven commodity. Talked about but never taken seriously. Sak is a god.

If it happens, I'd bet on Rickson. Sak can be good, but sometimes he just doesn't train seriously for his fights.

As others said, this would have been cool years ago, but I would still order this. Sakuraba became an all-time favorite of mine when he started "Super Mario" jumping on butt scooters.
