    The Japanese seem to eat his bullshit up, however. He seems to be ubiquitous on Japanese TV. However as of late I hear he is actually taking his training seriously and is trying to learn some good technique and has been training with the likes of Maurice Smith, and El Guapo.

    He will always be more of a freak then a fighter. However, his antics and assholiness (its a word now damnit) make people want to watch his fights even if its just to laugh when he cowers and loses. Infamous can some times bring in more "fans" then famous.

    I’m not much of a fan of Sapp’s either but in all fairness some of those interview clips look to be from pro wrestling. At any rate much of that ranting is done in “character” which the Japanese fans seem to enjoy, kind of like when they tried to portray Quinton Jackson as some kind of homeless guy when he first started fighting in Japan. Of course that doesn’t explain Sapp acting like a total asshole deliberately hitting guys when they are down during kickboxing matches etc.

    I remember seeing Gary Goodridge getting slammed on the internet for kind of acting like a dick. Later on Tom Erickson posted more or less saying that he was acting that way under orders from management because the fans liked it. And because the fans like seeing him fight is why a guy like Goodridge who is probably little better than a .500 fighter keeps getting appearances in Pride.
