Jean Skarbowsky (French) & Magnum Sakai (Japanesse) are both pretty awesome. Anyone interested in seeing some of the best of the thais versus the best of "the rest" should check out the S-1 world championships. It's one of the biggest thai promoters "full" muay thai answer to the K-1 grand prix

taken from his site ... crocop.tk

Mirko Filipovic is 31 years old. Ten years ago he got familiar with Tai-boxing and other martial arts

Mirko is CRO COP, ex police officer, ex member of AntiTerorist Force Lucko to whom Thai-boxing is a sport challenge and a philosophy of life.
He atleast has some background in it. take it how you want it.

I would like to know some historically good Thai MT fighters. They don't keep their own history.

Did you miss the part before where you were being told he has never fought a fucking Muay Thai fight? How can someone be "one of the best Muay Thai fighters" when he has never even competed in the sport?

And his style is more kickboxing anyway, he hardly uses any knees at all and leg kicks aren´t his strongest point like Hoost proved when he handed him his ass three times.

it definately also said he had two thai boxing fights at the age of 22, but regardless if it makes you feel better i'll submit to what your saying via armbar.

He's right though, if you're not any kind of champion under full thai rules you can hardly be considered one of the best thai boxers.

Quarter and semi's are modified (no elbows), finals are full MT. I think the tournament format makes it a good idea to withhold elbows in the early rounds.

Other noteworthy farangs are Steve Wakeling, Ole Laursen, Danny Bille, Kozo Takeda, Yoshihiro Sato.

For the guy who was interested in historical MT fighters

ahh, didn't know that. I just remember on my S-1 VCD people were getting warnings for throwing elbows.

One of the best Thai fighters I can recall was Coban- Heavy handed, had huge wars with Ramon dekker, etc. Now, he's a mess from all the punishment and drinks like a fish, but hey, a guy's got to have a hobby, right?
