One of the arguments I have heard for hakama is that it is to hide the footwork in kendo

Hah. They are useless against our mighty integrale's.

In all seriousness though WTF. When I start the fisticuffs I'm in uniform and body armour what does matter if I wear a unitard in training? (I don't but you take my point).

So long as you do not spend half of your class time folding your leotard . . . and there is no Famous Story of some Savate professor proclaiming the great significance of the leotards. . . .

Can we send to the Labor Camps those whose waist circumferences exceed that of their chest's?

Does it count if they are beginners and I give them ultimatum "lose that spare tire or else...."?

Again, the Magic Pants [Tm.--Ed.] teach your great martial arts wisdom!

It is in the pleats! O-Sensei says!

Wish my style had Magic Pants. . . .

Savaters can keep up the full contact kickboxing thing but must loose the leotards. If all-in-one body suits become fashionable again, God forbid, then they will become acceptable again. And I will commit suicide.

And wrestlers singlets are out too. Tight shorts are functional, as are those tight no-grip tops we sometimes see in sub-grappling, but singlets are just silly.

See rule 3: Aliveness must be taught. Aliveness in training will leave no hiding place for the morbidly obese in fighting related training. Podgy Grandmasters will soon give up the self-image of invincibility and take up healthy eating.

That's a great suggestion, it would certainly weed out some crap martial arts.

That's a good suggestion. It's partly covered by the silly clothing rule because attaching an American flag to your attire is needless and silly. And the only people left wearing gi will be people doing jacketed wrestling arts like Judo, Sombo or BJJ -although the latter are among the worst offenders.

Footnote to Rule 1, silly uniforms:
Ninja related arts practitioners, we don't care how functional you claim that garb is, it still counts as extremely silly. Tabi boots are right out. And unless you are a Muslim lady or a bank robber, head scarfs are reserved for old women.
