It's hard. I've only pulled something vaguely resembling it off once.

I've only successfully done it in drilling. It's hard to actually get in the right position to do it. Buakaw makes it look so easy though!

This is a good thread that doesn't belong in Newbietown. Moving it to the Bullshido forum.

Yeah, I've seen his fights. He's really intense.

I'm really liking that lotus sweep. If I'm following it correctly, it's a low kick to the leading leg that's perpendicular to the angle of the opponent's attack, right? Or is there a hook that I'm just not seeing?

the way I was taught, you throw your right arm in front of them, shuffle to the side of them and simultaneously kick their lead leg out from under them as you pull them down with your right arm.

LOL, Geez, it sounds way more complicated when you put it like that. :eusa_doh:It's not that difficult, really. Pulling it off successfully is the tricky part.

That's the problem...too complicated. Simplify it.

All the movement is-is a height variation of an inside crescent. The key to the sweep is your hip torque, not your hand positioning.

    Very simple.

I'd think the sweep is much more guaranteed with the additional use of the hand than just trying to kick their leg out from under them.
