You were pretty spot on with the randori comment. I switched to Bjj because I just want to roll damnit! 30 minutes of instruction and an hour of practice suits me much better than vice versa.
I think if the guy is looking to get into shape he may have a similar attitude.
V- I swam in highschool and now do Bjj. Its really true, from my experience BJJ may work even more muscles than swimming since you dont repeat the same pattern.

Resistant grappling is one of the best work outs you can do. I always equate it to swimming. You end up using all your muscles in conjunction to each other than you normally do, while at the same time elevating your cardio.
