I just read Tonie's book and my experience is with someone who is a karate champion who believes he is The David from the Bible who with his "pastor leader" will bring in the last ministry. His "pastor" is also a karate black belt and tithes are made directly out to HIM. They did some sort of "breathing" they called an "anointing" which was an inhale with an exaggerated exhale. I had a physical reaction to this within a week - heart pressure which doubled me over, a feeling of losing control, then laughter. I was told this was The Holy Ghost and our "Sprirts were connecting". When the leader started "coming on to me" I asked questions and this feeling went away and they became more and more controlling. Said I was to Marry this "David" and buy a home near the leader with the sale of my home. Well, I got out after I found his x-wife had their marriage annulled for believing it was a religious cult. He was insistant I get involved with karate and did a "move" on me one night that would have broke my neck if he'd made "contact". It was a punch and a kick move. He said God wanted me to know he could protect me! It was a terrifying nightmare and I've woke up. Make your own decision. He spoke in tongues and cast demons using Sa Ta Na Ma which is a yogic chant. Told me if I went up against them I'd be smited by God. Wanted me to wear more and more makeup and tighter clothes. There is belief he and this pastor are having a sexual relationship. He says he will be the last ministry and dissappear before the rapture. A five time olympian karate champion?

Tonie Gatlin was acclaimed one of the top female martial artists of her time before her dynamic conversion to Jesus Christ in 1988. Afterwards, she continued teaching karate until God opened her eyes to the occultism and destructiveness permeating the martial arts. Today she is an associate pastor who proclaims that Christians must put on the whole armor of God.

Basically, the book says that this lady's problems all stemmed from her study of martial arts.

Edit: Now I'm over it. Read the first chapter, writing is pre-school standard. Too painful to read, even if the story seems pretty hilarious.

Nope, but I just realized that my irony detector is malfunctioning. I've seen people interpret the LOB as a real site before, though.

If any of this crap about Karate masters who think they're "King david" is actually true, or people selling their souls when they take up Karate then who really cares? These people don't need God to turn them around, they need an ass kicking from someone who knows how to fight, then Karate won't be so alluring.
