Maybe its just me, but in the slo-mo replay it looks like his brain says: 'you're about to get kicked in the head', and his face says; 'you're right!'
Of course, due to the lousy training, his brain says: 'don't worry about raising your hands, you're wearing that fancy padded helm~[ka-BOOM] *end transmission*

Dropping your hands in TKD is pure slop, period, and has very little to do with "the rules" and everything to do with shitty instruction and schoolmates with some combination of fat, slow, inflexible, and uncoordinated.
a lot of people on bullshido say this, but i disagree. imo if holding your hands up was a great advantage under WTF rules, they'd be doing it at the olympic level. there are a huge number of people in this sport, and some of them take it very seriously. they might be misguided, but they aren't fat, slow, inflexible and uncoordinated. i think that the rules just set up a shitty dynamic.
