    Hell yeah! Hell no!

How the hell do US cops work?

I may be being a doofus, but looking at some threads here there is all sorts of confusion about what cops can do what where (ie city/state/county/country/federal) in the US, can someone explain it please?

Why the hell cant it be simple, look in an atlas - all of england, northern ireland and wales... thats what i can do any time ....no city or county limits....

Cuz technically, the US isn't a country.

It's a union of countries. The law in one state isn't going to me the same as in another.

God I wish that were true.

Would it be bad if I started to think of myself as Marylander first and an American second?

Not only that, counties can regulate fines, penalties, procedures and **** like that. Well, in Lousiana they have parrishes instead of counties... how cajun of them.
Read this for flexibility and injury prevention, this, this and this for supplementation, this on grip conditioning, and this on staph. New: On strenght standards, relationships and structural balance. Shoulder problems? Read this.

New To Weight Training? Get the StrongLifts 5x5 program and Rippetoe's "Starting Strength, 2nd Ed". Wanna build muscle/gain weight? Check this article. My review on Tactical Nutrition here.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

the ignorant people posting on the board don't know what cops here and there can do.

The cops know exactly what they can do

Ergo, the disparity of law actually helps the cops by keeping those they ride herd on ign'ant of their powers.
There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.

There are federal laws which federal LEO agencies enforce.
-Secret Service takes care of things like counterfeiting and politician protection.
-IRS takes care of federal tax matters.
-BATF deals in alcohol, tobacco, and firearms; namely felonious federal matters. They wouldn't deal with misdemeanor matters like reckless discharge of a firearm. That's a State-and-below-issue.
-Customs takes care of import export stuff.
    -Border Patrol; immigrations
    -Air Marshalls...dudes on planes

There are functions of the State which State Police fill. State and Interstate Highway matters, as well as taking up the slack of indigent county and munipal things.

There are county functions which only County police undertake. Eviction matters, serving papers, taking care of unincorporated areas of the county. As well as all state laws.

There are municipal functions which muncipal police undertake, like local ordinance (bullshit). As well as state laws.

    Miscallany: Rail road police.

    I'm sure I'm missing stuff.
