    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Bad news Kenpo

Alright guys, this is a video of me showing why certain techs are taught a certain way. This is me showing an example of why the technique Delayed Sword is not taught for a punch but a grab and push with the right hand. I'm the guy in black LOL. You'll notice me talking about how I know this happens, it's because I go to Throwdowns.

    Have a great Kenpo day

For those of us who are unfamiliar with the term "delayed sword" could you elaborate slightly on what the move is supposed to do?

    My example

Well, I try to do my part educating the silly slap happy Kenpoists and they all tell me I'm so MEAN LOL. Oh well, I've got a few students who are well trained and still at it, including me, I'm still on the floor with my guys when we go at it. Makes me feel bad if I've cheated 'em out of an ass whoopin' LOL, and they love it.

Yea, that's kinda why I posted it, it shows the contrast. I've got one nasty task ahead of me, just don't know how much time it'll take to convince the ones that are brainwashed.

And I have to laugh EVERY time I see that SL4 Delayed Sword vid, it's a killer LOL.

You mentioned SL4 shouldn't be done off a punch but instead off a grab to the wrist , arm , or lapel . I am of the belief the SL4 just shouldn't be there at all ... atleast as I have seen it done . Every single video I have seen of Sub Level 4 ( Delayed Sword ) I hadve seen , up till know , was completely compliant and unrealistic .

I don't understand how the techniques contained within it are worth teaching if they are taught in other combos . I drill difficult and counter intuitive striking drills in order to get a better grasp of the techniques and striking in awkward positions , but I try to make it as close to realistic as possible .
