Damn...the meaniest way I did it was over the phone telling her that I was breaking up with her for the girl I was drinking with.
And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.

That's a clip from a comedy show here in australia called the chaser's war on everything. They do a fair bit of funny **** often at the expense of other celebrities here

So that was a setup? The hosts didn't know about it though, right?

I just made them hate me until they thought it was their idea.
Damn, I WAS a cowardly chickenshit.

oky dokies, i'll try to explain this as best i can:

the show is called sunrise. a shallow, super conservative piece of morning trash. the chap being interviewed is part of a show on ABC which is the complete polar opposite to sunrise, called "the chaser's war on everything" - a show where they say they are having a war on everything, and consistently claim they are winning on all fronts.

so i'd say he did that because sunrise probably represents everything he hates. i don't think he actually dumped his girlfriend. you can hear the laughter in the background... that doesn't happen on sunrise, so i'd say this little vid was taken from the other bloke's show.

and yes you can swear on australian television, depending what kind of show it is. all you have to do is state at the beginning of the show what kind of content it will have (like violence, sex, coarse language) and then do what you want basically. for sunrise, swearing is a BIG no-no. for the chaser's war on everything, obviously not.
