    -IIRC a chain gun has one barrel and an electically powered chain in it mechanism. Hence the name. The mini gun has a bunch of barrels. I'm sure Wikipedia would be more help than me.

    I got my exposure to heavy weapons in the navy. As far as sheer volume goes, the 20mm miniguns (CIWS) are great, like a huge mechanical fart, but the 5 inch deck gun puts it to shame.
