    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    New MMA fans are idiots...

    Repost....

Huge hype going on around the web about Gracie/Hughes. I'm reading it everywhere. Now, while I am happy MMA is getting bigger, can we do without the new idiots who think they know it all?

Couple months ago down at AFC, I had to sit in front of this stupid bitch commenting about the fights, I actually turned around when she made mention that Shelbygirl couldn't box for ****, and stared at her chubby ass for that one. It's not like she didn't notice the huge ATT shirt I had on or me cheering standing up anytime from ATT got in ring. But she kept going on and on, just would not shut up. She wasn't the only one there, just the loudest.

This is the archetype of the new MMA fan circa TUF1.

I read on another board about Rickson's 500 and 0 record, snorted to that one. Then kept reading about how Royce wouldn't fight Sakuraba. Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure I saw Rorion throw in a towel for that fight due to Royce's leg being broken, right? Don't answer, I already know.

Rant over... Now, I'm just looking forward to seeing the fight this weekend.

Personally I'm not a Christian, but this is good advice-

God grant me the strength to accept that which I cannot change.

People are fucking dumb. You're not going to be able to change that. However, this is MMA. Punch them in the face or something.

Went to a local show 2 week ago. Same old crap. They booed whenever the fight went to the ground. Whenever they clinched they yelled "This isn't a boxing match!", whenever they were hunting for subs they yelled for the GnP, they booed everytime the ref called the fight for blood/flash KO. Etc etc.

One guy was annoying the hell out of me. He kept booing the fighters when it was called for blood yelling "Come on, you're a fighter, you're supposed to be tough", and I yelled back at him "I don't see YOU in the fucking octagon".

People should have to take MMA 101 before coming to these shows.

Which show did you go to? I've been contemplating taking a Saturday to go to one, seems like there's always at least one guy from SBG in them.

New MMA fans are idiots, but there are also plenty of old MMA fans that are also idiots. I sure we've all been to Sherdog's forums.

Yeah i dont like the new fans that much either. The last time i went to a fight there were a whole bunch of idiots there. Whenever the fight went to the ground they'd say stuff like "Common get up and hit em that ground stuff looks gay". Is it just American fans who are like this? The reason why i ask i because when i watch Pride. The crowd is usually interested and excited to see a submission or a technical ground fight.

He, I remember that bitch!! She was the loudest of all. "Oh, look, what he is doing right now is an armbar thing" :tard:

Man, PRIDE fights are much more entertaining and professionally arranged. The entire thing is just a first class uber-event whereas the UFC is just a pompous superbowl with ear-splitting BWHAAHHAGGGGGG metal (not that the superbowl or loud metal are bad.)

But the attitude of the audiences are just the total opposite. People here just want to see a quasi-boxing bloodfest respecting the ground only if it quickly goes into GnP or a fight-ending armbar or something. On the other hand, pple in Japan seem to have a better appretiation of all the skills demonstrated by the fighters (at least that's one of the most noticeable things you see in PRIDE matchs.)

Man, pple here make fun of Thai fighters performing the ram muay... what else can be expected?

    ** EDIT **

Anthony, your avatar is boner inducing.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
