Isn't that true though? It's rare that fighters parry or counter strike most attacks thrown at them.

You can't successfully parry and block (far out from your head) forever. Something will get through.

Watch boxing DVD's tons of them. Then go to a boxing gym and learn how to throw hands before you do anything else. MA is not in the head it's in the heart and soul!!!
You are a joke... if you continue with this we'll refer you to Phil Elmore. If you're serious... get in shape, try to reach 300 pushups a day... not in one sitting. Run 4 miles or more a day. That's a foundation... then find a good boxing gym, then take wrestling seminars. After a few years, you might be on your way to being a martial artist!!!

If you fight, you're going to get hit no matter what you do.

Best to just sit on your ass and watch TV.. then no-one will be able to hit you ever.

i'd say we parry &/or counter strike a large % of incoming strikes. depends on range, too. we couldnt catch & throw very well if we fought only peekaboo style. but yeah the guard always has to be right there too cause its the stuff you don't see or gets thru that will knock your ass out.

calm down dude. just because I don't think one can parry all strikes coming at him doesn't mean I'm automatically a joke. I'm not that experienced, but I definitely don't like to try to parry every single punch thrown to my head. Give a long enough combo, and I'll misparry something. I'm only capable of shelling up to take a couple punches on my guard sometimes. Trust me, I get hit square in the face all the time because I don't move out of the way or guard right. That's a consequence of not having a perfect guard and getting punches thrown.
