I thought that Burmese boxing was basically the same art as Muay Thai (i.e. same way of delivering most techniques) but where the competitions had crazier rules (i.e. headbutts allowed and ko'd people left in the ring to wake up so they could carry on).

there's been a lot of cross polination between burmese boxing and thai boxing for sure, so it makes sense that they'd look pretty similar. The impression I get from Burmese fighters is that they're in even poorer condition than Thai fighters, and thus less well trained. The lethwei videos I've seen have looked very sloppy.

Correct. Being of questionable parentage though, KK started two threads on the same topic.I thought that Burmese boxing was basically the same art as Muay Thai (i.e. same way of delivering most techniques) but where the competitions had crazier rules (i.e. headbutts allowed and ko'd people left in the ring to wake up so they could carry on).

Agreed. Doesn't help with the likes of Gyi running around claiming to slaughtered thousands for Her Majesty using said techniques. The lethwei videos I've seen have looked very sloppy.

Impersonating an officer of the Crown. Disgraceful.
There is also "traditional" bando with animal forms, weapons etc. I'd have a look if I got the chance but it always seems to be run by mooks.
Eh? Admittedly thai boxings not my thing but the fighters always look in good nick.even poorer condition than Thai fighters -

I'm not really sure what "in good nick" means, you crazy limey bastard.
I'm saying Thai boxers are generally pretty poor (as in they don't have much $$$), and it seems to me that Burmese boxers are even less in the benjamins (poor).

Benjamins? Oh yes I'm the crazy one alright.
Very well then I'll communicate this in a less sesquipedalian
fashion readily understandible by our trans-atlantic bretheren, being ever protean in my habits.
Am I to understand that in a veritable salmagundi of American-English you refered to the pugilists fiscal situation?
I of course offer humble apology for my fustian manner. -
