DaGorilla I agree with you. It is well intentioned and while far from perfect, at least its a small step in the right direction.

Whats funny is that people actually believe and argue with me on other forums that San Da was created to add throws to Muay Thai or is just a cheap version of Muay Thai. They look COMPLETELY different. Just watch the Muay Thai vs San Da videos on youtube.

Thanks for the clip. Now like I said before San Da looks nothing like Kung Fu. That is the Kung Fu that most schools teach. It is more a crappy style of kickboxing with Judo/Wrestling added in.

In fact I bet you would be way better if you took kickboxing and mixed in wrestling yourself. Its not that San Da is some horrible crap, just that its not Kung Fu that is practiced in many training halls. Just because Kung Fu guys do it doesnt make it Kung Fu. No horse, cat, bow & arrow stances. No flailing fists and a zillion hand formations.

San Da is cool but it is completely different then Kung Fu. If someone says they do San Da id be like "hey cool!" but if they said they did Choy Li Fut or Shaolin id be like "You super gay!"

I know Choy Li Fut guys and Ngo Cho guys who do Sanda. Sanda's not a style, it's just sparring.

Im thinking of it like this. Maybe Im completely mislead and wrong so here I go. Kickboxing is a type of sparring but also a style. It came from Karate but stripped it down to its basic strikes. It also utilized the training methods of Boxing and some of its hand technique. No one that I know of though who does Kickboxing associates themselves with Karate. They are different.
Same thing I see in San Da. They took the most basic and fundemental aspects of Kung Fu safe enough to spar in a live setting. But I dont think that anyone who does Kung Fu can use San Da as proof that Kung Fu works. They are different. Just like kickboxing evolved from Karate, San Da evolved from Kung Fu. Its a good sport and way to train but I see them as different from its root Kung Fu.

Maybe all I see is crappy Kung Fu though. But as far as I know no Kung Fu schools or styles have San Da type techniques and training in their school or style.

Exactly!! The only point you're making here, Gijoe is how fucking ignorant your really are about Kung Fu.

Maybe the schools you've been to are crap, but I assure you there are many good, hard training KF schools out there.

When we spar at my (gay according to your dumb ass) Longfist school it looks alot like that clip you just saw. Just not as good obviously.

Just because we don't use all of the **** in our forms to actually fight doesn't mean it's somehow a different style. Do you think when all Kung Fu guys actually fight they drop into a cat stance and start making Bruce Lee noises?
