I don't know what planet you're from but here on Earth knees and elbows are used in sparring, competition and in life outside the ring.

    But you do tai-chi so...

Only a small percentage of people who take up Muay Thai ever compete under full Thai rules.

We practice restraint with our training partners so that they can come back to train another day.

Elbows and knees are thrown but not carried through; it's called CONTROL.

The mindset of not training four of the best weapons a person has just makes no sense to me.

Like light-contact sport karate does with punches and kicks ? awesome. *

I agree, that's why you practice all of the techniques banned in competition at full resistance, right ? **

    * & ** Haha, just fucking with you. You went from misunderstanding humour, to indignant about me doing some shitty internal CMA, to sounding like some shotokan instructor all in the space of two posts. That's awesome. Have you been drinking ?

True dat, but very few things are as satisfying as sending someone to the mat.

We practice knees against an opponent who's wearing a bellypad in practice.

In MMA or MT competitions they aren't held back at all.

    Same thing with elbows.

As far as scratching ,spitting, slapping, windmilling fingerbending and ball grabbing well we don't practice that as it is more of a taichi thing.
