hah, thats funny. They make you go back to basics just because of your TKD base....

Well I do both currently. I got razzed pretty hard when I did a jumping back kick during sparring. The whole gym was busting my balls about not screaming at the top of my lungs during the kick for the rest of the sparring match... but it was all in good fun.
The transition isn't that bad though. I started from basics of course, but I have no trouble keeping my hands up and not bouncing around like a fool... and I kick better then most... *shrugs*
Funny thing is... whenever I got back to my TKD classes, my hands drop back to my waist... heheh

I found the transition from Taekwondo to Muay Thai fairly easy, you pick things up faster than when you where a complete beginner I found. I went back to Taekwondo tonight for the first time in about 5 months...man it was lame

It will be worse than you think, like TKD was geting lamer when I started to see the **** but when you have been doing something real for a while and you go back its just beyond a joke the kinda crap they try to make you believe. ha ha I got told I wasnt Anthony Mundine (Australian Boxer) I am "A MARTIAL ARTIST" pffft I almost spat the dummy.
