Correct. I know most people hero-worship their instructors to some degree, but few instructors have had to overcome the level of adversity William has. He has several complications from the GSW, like permanent ringing in the ears, but he hates pity and would kick my ass if I listed off all the **** he has been through.
Shut the hell up and train.

yeah, i guess i can see how much sight isnt needed while grappling. but, i was reffering more to all the movie hype of blind shaolin masters and blind swordsman.

yeah, grappling is great for blind people... hell, half the sighted bjj practicioners turn into stevie wonder once you've got them in your guard.

I've had two significant scratches, at different times, to my cornea since I began training BJJ. Faced with the prospect of sitting out for a week or two, I chose to roll, in guard mostly, with my eyes closed. I was surprised at how little of a difference it made after I got over my initial uncomfortableness.

I am very near sighted ( my contact prescription is -7.5 L -8.0 R) and I had my contacts knocked out during BJJ practice. Its not the same as being totally blind but its pretty damn close. Even though it was only my 3rd lesson it didn't really bother me, vision is just not that important when grappling. When a guy is laying on you, you have a really damn good idea of where he is.
**** you math class
