yeah, i guess i can see how much sight isnt needed while grappling. but, i was reffering more to all the movie hype of blind shaolin masters and blind swordsman.

yeah, grappling is great for blind people... hell, half the sighted bjj practicioners turn into stevie wonder once you've got them in your guard.

I am very near sighted ( my contact prescription is -7.5 L -8.0 R) and I had my contacts knocked out during BJJ practice. Its not the same as being totally blind but its pretty damn close. Even though it was only my 3rd lesson it didn't really bother me, vision is just not that important when grappling. When a guy is laying on you, you have a really damn good idea of where he is.
